Are you feeling overwhelmed by difficult emotions, or moving through a life transition that feels hard to navigate on your own?
I’m Dalia, a therapeutic counsellor based in Maidenhead, Berkshire. I offer a calm, supportive space where you’re met as you are, without judgement or pressure to ‘fix’ anything.

You may not know what you want from counselling, or even know how to put what you’re feeling into words. That’s completely normal, and it isn’t something you need to have worked out before you get in touch. Simply taking the step to learn more about counselling is, in itself, a brave one.
Counselling is about being understood. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, to help you reconnect with your own inner wisdom and strength to heal.

The relationship we build together is at the heart of my work. Before we delve deeper, what matters most is that you feel safe, heard and respected. I bring warmth, patience and genuine curiosity to each session, creating a space where you can feel comfortable sharing whatever is important to you. I hold what you share with care and without judgement.
I am a fully qualified Therapeutic Counsellor with four years of practical experience. I am a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association For Counselling and Psychotherapy), and I work within its ethical framework, with regular clinical supervision and ongoing commitment to learning.
If you’d like to explore whether counselling could help, please get in touch. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can talk it through together, with absolutely no obligation to continue afterwards.
Life can be difficult at times, and there may be moments when it feels helpful to have someone to talk things through with. As a counsellor, my role is to offer you a safe and supportive space where you can explore what is going on for you, understand yourself better, and consider what you might want to change.
Counselling gives you the opportunity to step back from the pressures of everyday life and talk openly about the things you are struggling with. Having someone outside of your usual circle can sometimes make it easier to say things you may not feel able to share elsewhere. Together, we can look at what you are experiencing, make sense of your thoughts and feelings, and explore different ways of moving forward.
I don't believe counselling is about giving you advice or telling you what you should do. Instead, I aim to help you find your own way through things and make choices that feel right for you.
My approach is person-centred, which means that I work with you as an individual and without judgement. I believe that, with the right support and space to reflect, we can develop a greater understanding of ourselves and make changes that can lead to a more fulfilling life.
There’s no set formula for how our work together will unfold, because no two people arrive with the same story, or need the same things from counselling. Some weeks we might focus closely on something specific that’s happened; other weeks might be more about simply thinking aloud and noticing patterns as they emerge.
What stays consistent is the space itself: unhurried, confidential and entirely yours. You’re welcome to bring whatever is present for you that week, whether that’s something significant or something that feels too small to mention. In my experience, it’s often those smaller things that open up the most useful conversations.
If you’re reading this and recognising something of your own experience, please know that reaching out doesn’t commit you to anything beyond a conversation. It simply opens the door, should you decide you’d like to walk through it.
If you have any questions about therapeutic counselling, please get in touch. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have.
Counselling offers you a safe, secure space to express your feelings freely and in confidence, without needing to filter, soften or explain yourself. Many people find that simply being able to speak openly, perhaps for the first time, brings a real sense of relief. Whatever you bring, I’ll listen closely and without judgement.
Facing life events and difficult feelings can be hard and isolating. It’s easy to end up carrying things quietly, long after they’ve stopped feeling manageable alone. Counselling gives you somewhere to put that weight down, even if only for the duration of the session. You don’t need to have the right words ready, or know exactly what’s wrong before you come. Part of what we do together is simply making sense of what’s there, so it feels less tangled and less heavy to carry.
Change often grows out of small, steady shifts such as responding differently to an old pattern, or having a bit more clarity about what you actually need or want. I’ll bring what I’ve learnt within my training to support that process, but the pace and direction are always shaped by you. There’s no fixed idea of what ‘progress’ looks like. Some sessions might feel like real turning points; others are quieter, but just as valuable. Either way, you’re not expected to arrive with answers. That’s something we find together.
Often what brings someone to counselling is a mix of things that have been building for a while.
I have experience supporting people with a wide range of issues, including:
Life transitions (including retirement, the menopause, fatherhood and motherhood)
Anxiety
Depression
Divorce
Job loss
Insomnia
Grief & Loss
Addiction
Health issues
Diagnosis
Bereavement
As a therapeutic counsellor and advocate for wellbeing, I don’t work from a ‘one-size-fits-all’ script. I specialise in tailoring the sessions to your unique experience, because no two people’s stories, or their paths through them, are ever quite the same.
I offer counselling from a private, peaceful room located in central Maidenhead. It’s easily accessible by public transport and there’s free parking behind the building. For anyone who prefers the comfort of home, or who lives further afield, I also offer sessions online.
My practice is held within a private, cosy room in the community space in central Maidenhead. It offers a quiet setting, away from the busyness of daily life, where you can arrive, settle, and simply be for the length of our session.
There is free, accessible parking and it’s approximately a 10-12 minute walk from Maidenhead train station. Maidenhead Community Centre sits on several bus routes, making it a straightforward journey by public transport.
I also offer online sessions using Teams, for anyone who prefers to have sessions from home, or who isn’t based in Maidenhead. Many people find online sessions just as valuable as in-person ones.
Whichever option suits you best, the same care, confidentiality and attention go into every session. To find out more about booking in-person and online sessions, or if you have any questions about accessibility or getting here, please contact me.
If you feel ready to take the first step on your therapeutic journey, or if you're curious about whether counselling might help, please get in touch.
If you’re interested, I’ll get back to you to arrange a free 15-minute consultation. This is a relaxed conversation either by phone or video call, where you can ask any questions you have, share a little about what’s brought you to this point, and get a feel for whether working together seems like the right fit. There’s no obligation to continue afterwards, and no pressure either way.
During the consultation, we can also talk through the practical details, such as session times, the choice between in-person or online sessions, or anything else you’d like to understand before starting. If it does feel right, we’ll arrange your first session, either in my private room in central Maidenhead, or online via Teams. From there, we’ll continue to check in regularly on how the sessions feel, and adjust the pace or frequency as needed.
I know that getting in touch can sometimes feel like a bigger step than it looks from the outside. Wherever you’re starting from, and whatever has brought you here, you’re welcome to reach out whenever you feel ready.
