The Therapeutic Journey

Therapeutic Counselling in Maidenhead, Berkshire & Online

Working with you one-on-one in Maidenhead and online

My Approach

I’m Dalia, a qualified and experienced therapeutic counsellor in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

For me, therapeutic counselling is about gaining clarity, making sense of difficult emotions, or finding words for experiences that feel overwhelming and confusing. It can also be about learning to find acceptance, and living a little more gently alongside things that can’t be changed.

During our sessions, we will explore and discover new ways of relating to yourself and your life, at whatever pace feels manageable. There’s no pressure to get to a particular place by a certain time.

At the heart of my approach is the belief that within each of us, we already have what we need to heal, even if this feels distant, blocked or hard to access. My role isn’t to hand you answers, but to walk alongside you through the process of finding your own way back to your inner strength and wisdom.

I bring warmth, patience and genuine curiosity to every session. I listen closely to what you say, strive to understand your world from your perspective, and help you reconnect with what matters most to you, even when it’s hard to see clearly from where you’re standing.

I have been on my own journey with joy and loss, love and grief, and success and disappointment. My experiences have not only informed my practice, but deepened my curiosity about the human mind and the meaning we each make from our lives.

My journey to counselling

Dalia, Counsellor in Maidenhead, Berkshire & Online

Before training as a counsellor, I graduated with a degree in Business Management and spent the following ten years in the corporate world. Working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment led me to experience symptoms of burnout and gave me first-hand understanding of how work and responsibility can shape our sense of identity, self-worth and wellbeing. I know how easy it is to lose sight of your own needs while keeping everything else running.

Wanting and needing a change, I moved into childcare, working as a childminder and supporting children from a wide range of backgrounds and needs. In this role, I learnt the value of emotional safety, consistency, clear boundaries, and being a reliable, attentive presence; qualities that remain central to my therapeutic counseling practice.

Four years ago, I began training as a Level 4 therapeutic counsellor, and I haven’t looked back since.
